Ishmael I. Colon, 34, is charged with firearm and drug trafficking offenses, said Bensalem police in a release.

Colon had driven to the township on Tuesday, June 6 in hopes of selling a handgun and some cocaine to a "subject known by police," the department said. When he arrived, officers from Bensalem and Philadelphia moved in and arrested him without incident, according to the release.

Police said they found the gun in his possession — a 9mm Springfield Hellcat pistol — as well as "a small amount of cocaine" and $1,600 in cash. Authorities also searched the 34-year-old's Philadelphia home, where four more handguns and an "AR-style rifle" were discovered, they claimed.

Colon is legally ineligible for gun ownership, the department said.

Court records show his bail was set at 10 percent of $100,000 at his arraignment on Tuesday. Colon is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on June 20.
